Often, we have customers who ask about cycling in the area. I can then talk excitedly and at some length as I share my passion for the fabulous roads and routes open to us in the Vale of Belvoir. Once I sense boredom setting in, I can always just point said customer to our published cycling routes, right here on our Blog page and curated by our good friend and cycling legend, Ollie.
Sadly, the same could not be said of walking routes and customers who’ve enquired have been met with vague suggestions of ‘head out across that field’ or ‘walk into Woolsthorpe, you get a nice view of the Castle on the way back’.
This chink in our armour has now been eliminated and we are genuinely excited to bring you our first Cafe Allez! walking routes!
This is logical, as we welcome dogs and muddy walking boots as much as we welcome tight fitting lycra and those ungainly, click-y cycling shoes. So we’re hugely grateful to two friends of Cafe Allez! (and Jim their dog) who have come up with a brilliant series of circular walking routes that set off from the main Castle visitor car park.
We’re launching these in association with our friends at Belvoir Castle and at the Engine Yard. And we kick of with our shorter routes, of around 2.5 miles and 4 miles.
The routes are FREE, tested by us and available for you to collect from Cafe Allez! Belvoir Castle! Leave your pre- or post-walk fuelling to us, and don’t forget to share your pictures with us afterwards, we’d love to see them.
More (longer) routes are to follow and we’ll announce these shortly, here and on our Facebook page…
